"The excellent singer/songwriter and criminally underrated guitar hero can draw on adventures with Chicken Shack, Mountain and T. Rex (!), while he also continues to refine and enrich the bands of Jon Lord and Spencer Davis. Here, though, he shines with his own Miller Anderson Band, featuring competent cohorts Kris Gray on bass (ex Edgar Broughton Band), Frank Tischer on keys and drummer Klaus Schenk. Absolutely live and on top of his gritty game, he presents an exciting and extremely cool journey through his solo albums between 1971 and 2008. This was to be expected, new versions, delivered in great voice, with finesse on acoustic and electric guitars as well as unforgettable slide attacks. But the real corker, the aspect audiences won’t have foreseen, is the revival of Miller Anderson classics from his times with The Keef Hartley Band and The Savoy Brown Boogie Brothers. Fans will remember that he acted as frontman for both groups. "Sinnin’ For You" truly burns, "Just To Cry" from 1968 never grabbed us with more mystery, and "Boogie Brothers" positively cooks with just one electric guitar, (while they needed three of those in 1974 with the help of Kim Simmonds and Stan Webb). In between, Miller relates anecdotes from his appearance at the original 1969 Woodstock Festival, and he has the audience in stitches – dry wit being yet another talent of the quiet hero!
