TheTwine Bass is composed of a pair of very special instruments: amodified cello and a traditional Kenyan fretless stringed instrumentcalled a Bolon. We strung the cello with rough hemp twine in varioustunings and played it as a stand-up bass. The resulting sounds aredeeply sonous, with rich, warm resonance, powerful low end and awoody, soft quality. The bolon has a cows hn f a neck and a gourdas a body, with four twine strings and a goat-skin resonating head thatthe strings pass directly through. In addition to deep-sampling thestrings with 10x round-robin and up to 14 velocity layers, we sampled anumber of other sounds such as legato slides, string mutes, tuning pegpluck/twists, finger taps and brushes, and other percussive effects onthe instruments body.
This unique custom instrument collectionfeatures our brand new, exclusive glissando/chd generat. Thispowerful tool gives you deep control over a wide variety of chd andglissando functions such as speed, range, scale, direction and me. Youcan choose from 26 different chds and 13 different scales. The numberof strings is adjustable from 1 to 24 and in glissando mode and 1 to 6in chd mode. There is also a bank of 16 assignable keyswitches finstant access to your favite selection of chds.
The TwineBass is a massive library, containing over 2000+ samples and weighing inat over 2 GB. As usual, it comes complete with a full range ofperfmance shaping and effects controls, including full control overour custom convolution reverb impulses, allowing you to take the soundin any number of new directions. Weve also included a collection ofambient pads, atmospheric drones and evolving soundscapes, giving thislibrary a vast array of tonal possibilities.
